PMD660
The recorder is designed to be used placed flat on a surface or carried over the shoulder. In the former position, the front surface presents a view of an LED bargraph level meter, with recording indicator and overload indication, a hinged flap for the insertion of the recording media (which may be secured with screw fasteners, supplied) a headphone socket (3.5mm jack) and the concentric level controls. The back has the two XLR inputs, associated phantom power switch, line in and line out jacks (3.5mm) and a socket for the accessory remote control, so all cables hang down when in use over the shoulder.

On the right side is the USB connection for simple upload of recordings to a PC, power switch, coaxial AC adapter input. On the left side a volume control for the headphones/speaker; the inbuilt speaker is automatically muted when recording with internal microphones. On the upper surface is the grille for the built-in speaker and the pair of microphones, and another LCD screen with a selection of control buttons.

This handheld omnidirectional moving coil dynamic microphone is specifically designed for use in professional recording and broadcast applications and is equally suitable for high quality reinforcement situations. With its diecast case and hardened steel grill, this rugged unit is especially useful in field applications. Internal shockmounting minimises handling noise. Supplied with snap-in stand clamp and protective vinyl case. Weight 213g.

Sennheiser PX40 Headphones
Lightweight open headphones with foam earpads, 3.5mm jack only and inline volume control. Frequency response: 20-20000Hz. 32 ohms. Not intended for studio use but small enough and ideal to pack away in a bag for a reporter on the move who needs to check and monitor signal presence.
