CAT5E-PE is technically identical to standard CAT5E, except that the jacket is polyethylene (“PE”) instead of PVC. This is a more robust, abrasion resistant material, and provides a tougher jacket for more difficult installations or demanding environments. It is also suitable for exterior locations.
