PAG PAGLIGHT SYSTEM COMPONENTS
PAG rechargeable battery and lighting products are used on a wide range of portable equipment in the professional broadcast, film and video Industries. The Paglight is the original PAG ENG/EFP lighting unit. For an overview of PAG portable power and lighting products see PAG portable power and see PAG portable location lighting, which includes the more recently developed PAG products for smaller digital camcorders and mini-DV camcorders.
Paglight is a halogen (or arc/HMI) camera light, providing cool-running and versatility under professional ENG/EFP, single operator conditions. Interchangeable plug-in lampholders fit into the back of the lamp body allowing different types and different powers (watts) of lamps to be exchanged without handling the lamp (which can cause damage).
Paglight "Power Bases" are low-profile, pre-wired, hot-shoe bases, which enable the Paglight to be easily and quickly mounted or removed from the camera. A basic Paglight thus consists of a lamp body, a lampholder, a lamp, and a Powerbase.
With its versatile, modular construction, each individual part of the PAGlight System is available separately, to satisfy the customer's developing operational and maintenance needs. We list the most commonly requested items, the whole PAG range is available to special order. In addition, see PAG Paglight mountings, for mounting accessories.
Paglights are also available in kits. See PAG Paglight Location Lighting Units - Halogen, HMI, see PAG Paglight location lighting units - LED and see PAG Paglight Powerarc location lighting field kit.
PAG 9938 Softstart lampholder
Prevents the cold-lamp start-up surge from activating the over-current protection circuits within Li-Ion batteries. (Not required when using a Sony digital camera, or a camera equipped with PAG System RTI). Accepts GY6.35 12 volt, 20W to 100W, halogen lamps. Order lamps separately.
PAG 9958 PowerMax/VariLux lampholder
Incorporating the VariLux dimming facility, prolongs battery run-time and saves lamp filament life. Accepts GY6.35 12 volt, 20W to 100W, halogen lamps. Order lamps separately.
PAG 9955 PowerArc lampholder
This allows conversion of a Paglight to HMI by plugging in the PowerArc unit. The PowerArc lamp (PAG 9967) consumes only 24W but provides the equivalent of 100W of daylight output. Order lamp separately.
PAG 9671 SX plug
A 2-pin D-shaped lighting connector, as found on Sony digital cameras and Anton-Bauer mounts.
PAG 9953 Rotatable accessory-ring
Holds any combination of snap-in barndoors, dichroic filters or soft-light effect diffuser. Ring only.
Accessory ring fittings
Snap-in to rotatable accessory ring: Tapered barndoors, parallel barndoors, diffuser and PAG 9951 Dichroic filter, which converts nominal colour temperature from halogen (3000 degrees K ) to daylight ( 5600 degrees K ). PAG 9973 PowerArc conversion filter provides a similar conversion used with the PowerArc lamp.
PAG 9959 Rotatable accessory kit
Comprises: Accessory ring, dichroic filter, diffuser and one pair of parallel barndoors.
Power Bases enable the Paglight to be easily and quickly mounted or removed from the camera and connect to the powers source for the light. The connector options are XLR-4 for Pagbelt and other professional camera equipment power outlets, PP90 for Paglok connector power ports, Snap-On for the Anton Bauer (and compatible) battery power outlet and SX for the Sony SX range of professional camcorders. The connectors are attached to the power bases by varying length leads.
PAG 9991, 9992 Power to Light Adaptor
This adaptor enables you to power a Paglight with a Paglok or Snap-On compatible battery, away from the camera. The battery itself even acts as a stable base for the unit, by attaching directly to the base of the Paglight. Two versions are offered to suit the battery connection type.
