The Yellowtec Mika Series is a stylish, integrated system for mounting and positioning microphones and flat panel monitors in studio and workstation applications, giving an elegant visual appearance for all the 'desktop furniture' in a studio.
The microphone arms are internally wired as standard, and use an elegant single tube design with articulated joints and internal springs, which is adjusted single handed. They are available in two finishes - non-reflective dark grey and natural aluminium. The basic units have cable tails for user-fitting of connectors, but they are also available with an XLR female at the top and XLR male at the base. They support microphones up to 2kg. The arms are mounted directly to surfaces using either a flush bracket or G-clamp, or raised higher by using the support pole. Use the natural aluminium version if using the support pole. Top section 400mm, bottom section 400mm.
Microphone Arms with Red LED Ring Signalling
These versions of the basic arms incorporate a red LED ring adjacent to the mic clamp, to enable a 'mic live' or 'on air' indication to be given to the presenter. The arm is internally wired with a combi cable (screened pair plus control pair in overall jacket), and requires 12-24VDC for operation. The aluminium finish version is available in two additional sizes, XS (270mm top section , 270mm bottom section) and XL (600mm top section, 500mm bottom section). They are also available fitted with an XLR 3 pin female at the top and XLR 5 pin male at the base.
Monitor Arms and Brackets
The folding monitor arm is a reinforced two-part articulated arm with VESA 75/100 standard attachment, with quick-release catch and pole clamp. Monitors up to 10kg can be pivoted horizontally for optimum location, and a sophisticated ball-and-socket joint at the end of the arm permits precise screen alignment for optimum viewing. The arm can be locked at any point vertically on the pole. It is available in two lengths, the standard model offers a maximum extended length of 350mm, the XL version 650mm.
The monitor support bracket is the same ball-and-socket joint with VESA 75/100 standard attachment, with quick-release catch and pole clamp, but without the folding arm section. It accomodates monitors up to 12kg.
Surface Mounting Bracket
A stainless steel flush surface mounting bracket is available for use with the mic arm. This has a 52mm top flange diameter, and requires a 20mm diameter hole in the worktop. It is suitable for material up to 35mm thickness, and is secured with a locking nut below the surface.
A clamp type bracket permits mounting the mic arms on the edges of worktops, without the need to drill holes. Suitable for thicknesses 20mm - 72mm. Colour: Dark Grey.
These poles, available in 445mm, 545mmm and 845mm lengths, are used as the primary support for the monitor arm and support bracket. The mic arm locates directly into the top, so can be used as a riser when extra height is needed. The maximum loading is four monitor arms or support brackets, plus one mic arm. Pole diameter is 51mm, and the finish is natural aluminium. A mounting kit is available to securely fix the pole to desktop surfaces, this requires a 10mm diameter hole. There is also a ceiling mount kit, where overhead fitting of poles is required. The mic-arm to support pole adapter permits mic arms to be attached at any point on a pole, thus also permitting several arms to be attached to a single pole.
Wall Mounting Bars
These screw to vertical surfaces and offer an alternative method of mounting. Monitor arms attach directly, but mic arms require the use of adapter 53-075. Available in two lengths.
