PAG PORTABLE LOCATION LIGHTING

PAG rechargeable battery and lighting products are used on a wide range of portable equipment in the professional broadcast, film and video Industries. These include cameras, recorders, lights and picture monitors. See: PAG Portable power, PAG Portable location lighting.

PAG's innovative design started with its original proprietary "Paglight" unit, using engineering polymer mouldings for mechanical strength and temperature stability, first introduced primarily into the ENG/EFP areas of operation.

The Paglight's flexibility in use is built on the unit's ability to work as both a flood and spotlight, with continuously-variable focus and even spectral distribution, and it's plug-in lampholder system which allows quick and easy selection of different power output halogen and arc lamp options. The rotatable accessory ring accommodates snap-in barn-doors, dichroic filter and diffuser as well as further filters. A wide range of adaptors and spare parts cater for existing and developing operational requirements and field service.

With this flexibility and the capability of powering from a range of portable batteries, the Paglight system can be purchased either as a complete lighting kit, with battery belt, charger and alternative lamps, as a lamp unit, to add to a camcorder "shooting kit", or as parts to adapt and extend the operation of existing units.

As camcorder equipment has reduced in size and weight, PAG have introduced additional Paglight family members with similar features to the original system. The Paglight M is the compact form of the original system, primarily for the new generation of smaller professional digital camcorders. The PAG location lighting systems are described in individual sections as are described below.
