DOUGHTY TRIGGER CLAMPS
Constructed from high-tensile aluminium extrusion, these innovative clamps fit standard lighting tubes from 48mm to 51mm diameter, for rigging a variety of stage equipment from lanterns to loudspeakers. The design offers the convenience of a standard hook-clamp, hooking over the bar and taking the weight of the attachment whilst the fixing wing-knob is tightened, yet does less damage to thinner walled tubing than the usual bolt fixing. The increased torque produced by the “trigger” aids positioning at non-vertical angles. SWL is rated at 200kg (5:1).
The basic trigger-clamp has a 12.7mm aperture for fixing luminaires, and a rebate to take a standard 12.7/12mm nut or bolt-head, preventing rotation. Various possibilities arise as a result for mounting loudspeakers, using Omnimount 30.0 series adapters, or threaded rods. See Index: Omnimount universal mounting systems. Eye-bolt types have an M12 eye for suspending items, “Big-Ben” types are fitted with a TV Eurospigot adapter (28mm diameter, compatible with the majority of both DIN and BS types) to mount luminaires to bars, and may also be used to fix tubes to suitable stands.
