CONTACT MULTIPIN CONNECTORS
A range of heavy duty multipin connectors well established in the pro-audio industry, and fully compatible with other similar heavy-duty types. As with most industrial connectors, only certain components from the range are relevant, and these are detailed below. For advice on part number equivalents, please call Technical Support.
All hoods and housings, when mated, offer protection to IP65 against dust and water. Latching is by levers, which can be on the chassis housing or the cable housing, and which mate with any other housing without levers.
Female and male inserts can be fitted into either housing, crimp contact pins are ordered separately. Standard cable housings have straight cable entry, right angle types available to special order. The cable glands stocked, which suit the generally used cables, require a thread adapter to fit them into the cable housing entries. Protective ‘dust caps’ are also available to fit cable housings, with and without levers, supplied with retaining chain. Whilst not essential, the manufacturers recommend the use of guide pins (4 per connector) to aid mating of 64 and 108 pin types.
