Intended to provide shelf space, when fitted in a standard 19″ rack, the shelves are suitable for storing reference manuals, tapes, etc. close to hand, in an equipment room, edit suite or similar installation. The black melamine coated particle board shelf, with black steel end plates, has a top and back, to avoid the, otherwise inevitable, accumulation of old ball-point pens, paper clips, razor blades and rancid pot noodles deep in the bowels of the other equipment in the rack. The perpetrators are thus preserved from resulting electric shock, and equipment down time is reduced.
