TOOLMARK P.O. TOOL WALLETS AND CASES
Generations of both BBC and Post Office engineers will immediately recognise these distinctive standard issue cases, produced for over half a century. The original tan coloured cow hide material is no longer available, having been replaced by a smooth mid-brown leather, similar to that used on high quality briefcases. With this change has come a significant increase in cost.
Model No. 3
With running loops for twelve tools, and a pouch, secured by press-studs, for accessories, this wallet has a zip closure and flat carrying handle. Suitable for carrying on location for running repairs. Closed size 317 x 178 x 45mm.
Model No. 2
As model No. 3, but with deeper gusset for greater capacity, useful with larger sizes of screwdrivers. Closed size 317 x 178 x 75mm.
Model No. 5
This should take a serious electronic maintenance toolkit. Fastened on three sides by a single heavy duty zip, this case has two flaps which fold out from the interior, one with elasticated loops and one with running loops, giving four surfaces to hold up to thirty-one tools. A flat carrying handle is provided. Closed size 330 x 225 x 95mm.
Model No. 6
Often used by site installation engineers, the No 6 is offered in two types, with either webbing shoulder strap or two side carrying handles. A particularly strong zip opens on three sides to give access to the two tool carrying pallets which have running loops to hold up to twenty-two tools. The hinged pallet has a documentation pocket on its back, and reveals a pouch (390 x 120 x 50mm approx), for accessories, and further storage area of roughly equivalent size. Also suitable for machine maintenance toolkits, the case is a durable alternative to the briefcase style case often used. Closed size 432 x 279 x 114mm.
All Toolmark wallets and cases are handmade. Whilst quality is assured, stitching may not be to the same standard as a machine.
