PAG PAGLIGHT LOCATION LIGHTING UNITS - Halogen, HMI

PAG rechargeable battery and lighting products are used on a wide range of portable equipment in the professional broadcast, film and video Industries. The Paglight is the original PAG ENG/EFP lighting unit.

Paglight is a halogen (or arc/HMI) camera light, providing cool-running and versatility under professional ENG/EFP, single operator conditions. Interchangeable plug-in lampholders fit into the back of the lamp body allowing different types and different powers (watts) of lamps to be exchanged without handling the lamp (which can cause damage). Paglight is continuously focusable from spot to flood with an even spectral distribution. Accessories include a rotatable accessory ring that holds any combination of snap-in barndoors, dichroic filters or soft-light effect diffuser. See PAG PAGLIGHT SYSTEM COMPONENTS AND ACCESSORIES for these accessories, additional lampholders and other accessories.

The lampholder accepts GY6.35 12 volt, 20W to 100W, halogen lamps (unless stated otherwise below). Order lamps separately. The “Softstart Lampholder”, for the same range of halogen lamps, prevents the cold lamp start-up surge from activating the over-current protection circuits within Li-Ion batteries. (Not required when using a Sony digital camera, or a camera equipped with PAG System RTI). The “PowerMax Control” lampholder, incorporating the VariLux dimming facility, prolongs battery run-time and saves lamp filament life for the same range of halogen lamps. Alternatively, the Paglight may be used with a “PowerArc” (HMI) lampholder which allows conversion to HMI by plugging in the PowerArc unit. The PowerArc lamp (PAG 9967) consumes only 24W but provides the equivalent of 100W of daylight output. Order separately. For an LED variant of this unit, see PAG PAGLIGHT LOCATION LIGHTING UNITS - LED.

Paglight “Power Bases” are low-profile, pre-wired, hot-shoe bases, which enable the Paglight to be easily and quickly mounted or removed from the camera. The connector options are XLR-4 for Pagbelt and other professional camera equipment power outlets, PP90 for PAGlok connector power ports, Snap-On for the Anton Bauer (and compatible) battery power outlet and SX for the Sony SX range of professional camcorders.

Each “Paglight” below consists of a lampholder and Powerbase with lead and connector as listed, a camera-shoe plate to fit the camera, and a male to male stud adaptor (1/4-inch BSW), to fix the shoe plate to the Powerbase. Lamps and lamp protectors are not included.
