The Tascam BD-01U 1U rack space Blu-ray player has been designed with studio and installation use in mind. Blu-ray, DVD, CD media, WAV, MP3, and WMA can be played back and transportation can be operated via the front panel buttons or included infrared remote control. Control can also be accessed from an external controller or PC by linking to the RS-232C 9-pin D-sub serial connector, or by utilising the RJ-45 Ethernet terminal to operate the BD-Live function - an option to access interactive features such as movie trailers, subtitles, and BD-Java applications when connected to the internet.
A two-level dimmable display on the front panel shows the media running time and play back status icon. A USB2.0 compliant socket on the front panel allows the user an alternative access point to play back MP3, WMA, WAV, and JPEG files directly from a USB flash drive. Along with standard disc play, USB media can be played back at up to 130% speed.
The BD-01U has +4dBu nominal, +20dB maximum, balanced XLR inputs and -10dBV nominal, +6dBV maximum, unbalanced RCA (phono) audio outputs that can be attenuated by up to -12dB for most effective performance. The 19-pin Type A HDMI output connector can be connected to compatible amplification to produce 7.1 multi-channel surround sound output. Dolby Audio Plus, Dolby TrueHD, and DTS-HD are supported.
