Specifically built by PSC for the DV Cam environment, the DV Promix 3 has been designed to provide all of the features necessary for today’s demanding video shoots. This robust three-channel mixer is battery operated for portability and provides very high quality audio in a compact and lightweight package.

The three channel design is built in a robust aircraft-aluminum case. On the front panel are three rotary channel faders, each with a low-cut filter selection switch, 80 / 20 / 150Hz, and a pan switch, left / centre / right. There are two meters, -20 to +3dBV, reading the output levels using bright sunlight-readable LEDs, and limiters at +3dBV prevent output clipping. The headphone monitor circuit is provided with level control and source switch (direct/tape-return). A switch selects tone to the main output for testing and line-up. The power switch is three way; internal battery / off / external power.
On one side panel are three XLR inputs, which are electronically balanced. Each has an input level switch selecting line level / dynamic microphone / condenser microphone. Gain is 0dB / 60dB / 45dB respectively. Each has a switch to apply 48V phantom power.
The other side panel carries two XLR outputs, which are electronically balanced; each has a switch to set the output level to microphone, consumer, or line level, -40dBV / -10dbV / 0dBV. Three 3.5mm 3-pole jack sockets provide a headphone output for headphones between 25 and 600 ohms, a stereo microphone level (-50dBV) output for direct connection to cameras without XLR inputs and stereo tape return inputs.
The rear panel has two battery holders to take 9V PP3 size alkaline batteries, a co-axial socket for external DC input and two trimmer controls to set the left and right tape return levels.
Frequency response: 20-20000Hz, +\- 0.5db. Distortion: 0.08% THD at 1kHz, 0dBV. Noise: -128 EIN, 150 ohms, A-weighted. External power: 7 to 18V DC. Run time: 4 to 6 hours from two alkaline batteries.
