RUBBER BOX POWER DISTRIBUTION UNITS
Rubber power distribution boxes intended for use on stage and location in film, TV, radio and entertainment. The rubber makes them extremely durable, and less painful when colliding with human limbs, a useful side-benefit ! Power inlets are industrial types. Models with industrial and domestic outlets are offered, and there is a Socapex-compatible version for lighting rigs.
IEC 60309-2 connectors are also known as BS4343, ‘ceeform’ and ‘CEE17’ connectors, and are industrial types in the familiar blue colour. Inlets are either 16A, 32A or 63A. Outlets are either IEC 60309-2 types, with a blue, hinged cover or country-specific domestic style socket outlets. The lighting ‘stage box’ has Socapex- compatible loop-in and loop-out connectors.
Type 140
The type 140 refers to the box which is common to the models of this type. A solid handle is bonded to one end, and holes are provided for fixing screws. Types with 32A inlets have a incoming combination MCB/RCD (30mA) and an individual 16A MCB per outlet in a housing with transparent lid. The units are rated at IP44. Schuko, French and UK 13A outlets are all to industrial standard.

Type 270
To split a high-current feed to several lower current, spur circuits. The box is of square section with a plinth for ground clearance, which has holes for fixing if required. Each box has a main breaker, single 30mA RCD, and an MCB for each outlet.

Luminaire Stage Box
This is designed for use with Socapex compatible lighting systems. Inlet and loop outlets are 19-pin types for connection to the multicore lighting cables and six 16A 240V socket outlets provide outlets for the luminaires. It is supplied with two clamps for fastening to trussing or lighting bars (48 to 51mm) and a safety bond for use with the built-in loop. The clamps may be detached for use free-standing or to adapt for other tube diameters. The box is wired to the USITT recommended practice. Dimensions:471 x 136 x 111 (l x d x h) mm, including connectors.
