Description
KELSEY CABLE DRUMS
Whilst these solidly constructed steel drums are suitable for many uses in recording, live entertainment and outside broadcast work, they are particularly suitable for the construction of audio multicore systems.
The steel cable drum is supported, on one side only, with a spindle constructed from 37mm steel bar. The drum is held on using a large nut with appropriate locking to avoid accidents. The drum shaft does not distort, even when fully loaded. The frame is fitted with a drum brake, and an accessory castor set, (2 locking), may be fitted, replacing the stacking feet.
The central part of the other flange is cut to provide a large central aperture. This may be used for storage of free connectors, with complete protection facilitated by the optional KAD-Q quick release plate, which is removable without tools. Alternatively one of three other plates may be bolted on to form a patch panel. KAD-16, 24,32 side plates are ready punched for, respectively 16, 24, 32 D-Series connectors, to give the option to fit Neutrik FDL and MDL series XLR styles, Canford D-series blanking plates, and Universal series connectors and switches mixed and matched as required.
The Canford custom cable termination service, when using these drums, can offer a simple, cost-effective implementation of most requirements, due to the lack of metalworking and drawing time. For suitable cable end boxes, see index “stage boxes”.
