MARANTZ PORTABLE SD CARD RECORDER - PMD661
The PMD661 records stereo audio from integrated or external, balanced microphones or unbalanced line inputs or S/PDIF digital inputs to SD or SDHC cards as MP3 or WAV files at resolutions up to 24-bit, 96kHz. Professional phantom power is available; the recorder runs on standard AA batteries. It is aimed at professional use in broadcast applications, with a 'broadcast feature-set'.
The included PMD Mark Editor software allows the marker points made on the recorded file to be adjusted post-recording, and a new file created. Thus basic editing can be carried out on any handy PC or laptop, and files posted for immediate distribution. 'Drag and drop' file transfer is supported via the USB 2.0 port. The recorder even has dictation functions including pitch-control and 'skip-back'.
The recorder is designed to be used placed flat on a surface or carried over the shoulder. In the former position, the front surface presents a view of an LED bargraph level meter, with recording indicator and overload indication, a 6.35mm headphone socket, with headphone and speaker volume control, and the concentric input level controls. Two loops protect the knobs and provide a fixing point for the carrying-strap. The back has the two XLR inputs, a switch to select microphone, with or without phantom power, or line, and a socket for the accessory remote control. There are also two grilles covering the microphone capsules. Note that the inbuilt speaker is automatically muted when recording with internal microphones.
On the right side there is a speaker grille, the power switch, key-lock switch, two RCA (phono) connectors for the line outputs and a 3.5mm jack socket for the unbalanced line input. On the left side there is a coaxial DC input for the AC adapter, an RCA (phono) connector for the digital S/PDIF input, a miniature USB2 socket, a hinged flap for the insertion of the recording media, and a speaker grille. On the upper surface is a 128 x 64 dots OLED (organic LED) display and a selection of controls, including large, dedicated buttons for record, record-pause and stop.

RC600P Remote Control
The optional RC600P remote control attaches directly to a microphone using a rubber strap and provides record, pause, mark (track) buttons, three-colour LED for record status and peak level. It may be used with the PMD660, PMD661, PMD671, PMD570. Lead length: 1.5m approximately.

Made from ballistic nylon, this 'ever-ready' style case has a clear vinyl top to show the screen and controls, side access panels with hook and loop fastening, draw-string 'pouch' opening at the rear for cable egress, battery compartment cover, a belt loop and durable carrying strap.
