RTW SURROUND PPM METERS AND SPECTRUM ANALYSERS
The RTW Surround Monitor series offer multi-standard PPM meters for viewing surround, multi-channel and stereo signals, together with one-third and one-sixth octave real-time spectral analysis, audio vector-scope display, digital audio status monitoring, test signal generator and sound level metering from a measurement microphone. A rack-mounting unit provides the interface to a remote video monitor, either proprietary with control buttons, or standard VGA.
All offer multi-standard PPMs for 7.1, 6.1, 5.1, 3.1 surround sound, additional two-channel peak meter, selectable loudness display, surround-sound analyser, 1/3 and 1/6 octave spectrum analyser, surround multi-correlator, an additional stereo down-mix meter, 'Dialnorm meter', audio vector-scope, AES/EBU status monitor, test signal generator and SPL meter for calibration.
In the surround sound analyser mode, the interactions of sound levels, loudness, phase correlation and level differences between all five channels contributing to the overall sound are converted into an immediately comprehensible visual image. In addition to this, the visual appearance has been designed to ensure that the dynamic behaviour of the displays corresponds to the subjective acoustic impression, making it possible to understand the balance of the surround programme immediately.

A 1U rack-mounting unit has menu, selection and seven, soft, function keys on the front, together with an XLR for a measuring microphone. On the rear are four 25-pin D-sub connectors for one eight-channel analogue and one eight-channel digital monitoring inputs, external sync at 44.1, 48 and 96 kHz, sixteen remote control inputs and eight outputs. There are two USB connections, one RJ45 ethernet connection, 15-pin D-sub-F connector to attach the remote VGA screen and IEC AC mains power inlet.
Included accessories: Manual. AC mains power cable.
Optional accessories: The 30010 remote display is a 8.4 inch VGA display with function keys matching the main unit in colour and layout. Breakout cable 1186 has a 25-pin female D-Sub connector wired to eight female XLR connectors, length 4m, Breakout cable 1163 has a 25-pin male D-Sub connector wired to eight male XLR connectors, length 4m.
11900S - SDI HD/SD De-embedding
This has the same features as the 11900 but, in addition, SDI HD/SD de-embedding, to access all sixteen (4 x 4) audio channels implemented in SDI streams, to use them for visual display as well as audio monitoring purposes. There are two additional BNC connectors on the rear for SDI input and through connections.
11900D - Dolby E and Dolby AC-3
Again this has the same features as the 11900 but has, in addition Dolby E and Dolby AC-3 decoding offering direct access to coded data streams for analysing and controlling purposes without the need for external decoding.
11900SD - SDI HD/SD De-embedding - Dolby E and AC-3
With both SDI HD/SD de-embedding and Dolby E and Dolby AC-3 decoding this version offers access to all sixteen (4 x 4) audio channels implemented in SDI streams to use them for visual display as well as audio monitoring purposes and direct access to coded data streams for analysing and controlling purposes without the need for external decoding. Again there are two additional BNC connectors on the rear. It is otherwise the same as the 11900.
