Licensing And Support
Sadie products are licensed for use on a single computer. For details
about SADiE 6 licensing please see 'Sadie 6 Multichannel Audio Recording And Editing Software - For PC'.
SADiE VIDEO REPLAY CARD AND VIDEO SUB SYSTEM - Dual Head Graphic Card - Canopus Capture Card
Two hardware packages are offered to enhance the AVI and Quicktime Playback and editing facilities of the SADiE 6 Post Suite and Sound Suite Software packages.
The SADiE video replay graphics card is based on a Matrox Parhalia PCI- E variant, allowing up to two computer monitors and an external composite video monitor to be connected. When two computer monitors are connected one screen is used exclusively for video playback. The card has two DVI-D connections with two VGA output converters supplied for analogue video output. One adapter has a short captive splitter-cable enabling connection to a video monitor as well as providing the VGA output. Maximum resolutions supported are two digital monitors at 1920 x 1200, two analogue monitors at 2048 x 1536, three analogue monitors at 1280 x 1024.
The SADiE video sub system comprises the Matrox Parhalia PCI- E video replay card as described above as well as a Canopus ADVC-300 video capture desktop interface. The Canopus device has a composite video input on a RCA phono connector, an s-video input on a 4 pin mini-din and digital video can be captured via a 4 pin IEEE 1394 Firewire connection. Connection to the host PC is via a 6 pin IEEE 1394 Firewire connection. The interface is supplied with a 6V DC power supply, a 4-pin to 6-pin IEEE 1394 Firewire cable and a CD-ROM containing Windows drivers. Physically the desktop interface is 146 x 27.2 x 177 (w x h x d) mm. The video sub system is also supplied with a 120GB IDE hard drive for video file storage.
HMJ, HWF - Hardware Control Panels
Providing advanced tactile control of recording, mixing and editing functions these may be used with Sadie system that has a CAT card, as described below, installed. The HWF also requires the HWJ to be installed in order to function.
HWJ Master Control Panel
This has a jog/shuttle scrub-wheel, touch-sensitive motorised master fader, transport controls, source and EDL timecode displays, editing and locator keys and twelve user-definable function keys. The HWJ requires a Sadie CAT card to be installed, and uses one channel of RS422 for communication. A power-supply and 3.5 metre connection cable are included.
HWF Fader Control Panel
This has eight, touch-sensitive, motorised faders with associated solo and mute buttons and six digital, rotary encoders for modifying EQ, dynamics and aux send levels. Any number of on-screen faders and controls may be accessed by the hardware faders by stepping through them in banks of eight. The HWF links into the HWJ master controller, so can only be used in conjunction with an HMJ panel. A power-supply and 0.8 metre cable to link to the HWJ are included.
HWCS Control Panel Package
This contains both the HMJ and HWF panels, power supplies and cables.
Premium-Drive - Professional Red Book CD Recorder
This is a Plextor Premium 2 CDRW drive that will install into a standard 5.25 inch desktop PC drive bay. When installed, it allows burning of Mode 2 data (UPC/EAN codes) essential for commercial replication. It also allows burning direct to CDR without first creating an image.
CAT Card
Providing a video reference input and time code interface, with four channels of RS422, this is a PCI card for use with PCMH16, PCM-H64 and PCM-H128 systems, (as well as the now discontinued PCM4 and PCM8 systems). The back plate of the card has two female BNC connectors for video reference in and out as well as a 25-pin female D-sub connector for up to four RS422 machine control and time-code connections. A 300mm break-out cable is supplied, with a 25-pin male D-sub connector wired to four 9-pin female types, for RS422, and a female and male XLR for time-code i/o.
B800, B800B Breakout Boxes
Providing analogue audio and AES/EBU I/O connections on individual connectors, these are 1U-rack mounting panels which connect to the multi-pin connector on PCM-8, PCM-H8 and PCM-H16 systems.
B800
The front panel has eight channels of AES/EBU i/o using four female and four male XLR connectors. Sixteen 6.35mm A-gauge jack sockets offer unbalanced audio inputs and outputs. Note that two B800 panels are required for 16 channels of i/o with the PCM-H16. A 3-pin female XLR mounted on the rear panel offers an AES/EBU reference input.
A 1.4 metre, captive cable with 44-pin D-sub connector links the B800 to the processor card installed in the DAW. The rear panel also has a 25-pin male D-sub connector for direct connection to a CAT Card, (cable supplied when ordered at the same time as a CAT card). Four 9-pin female D-sub connectors for RS422 machine control and male and female XLR connectors for timecode i/o are then available, again on the rear. A second 25-pin male D-sub connector is present, to link with a B800B.
B800B
The B800B is connected in-line with the B800, so can only be used in conjunction with a B800. The panel provides XLR connectors for balanced analogue connections in a second 1U rack space and effectively disables the B800's unbalanced jacks inputs. The front panel has eight male and eight female XLRs for balanced analogue audio i/o. A 1.4 metre, captive cable has a 25-pin female D-sub connector for connection to the B800. A power supply is included.
Adaptec SCSI Cards
PCI and PCI-E cards are offered for those who wish to use SCSI drives. Both have 50-pin and 68-pin SCSI interfaces. For the latest details of the specific cards currently offered, please contact Technical Support.
