Description
BEL AUDIO DELAYS - Synchronisation
Bel digital delays are designed specifically for broadcast applications, typically re-synchronising sound to picture after transmission or processing delays incurred by the video signal. Two-channel and multi-channel rack-mounting models offer both analogue and digital interfaces.
Delays occurring as a result of video production, satellite down-linking, video processing for virtual studio presentations, in codecs used for web-streaming and other common TV or radio applications can be accommodated. On-air continuity is assured by fail-safe bypass relays.
7150 - Two Channels
Providing up to 10.4 seconds, 256 PAL frames. of audio delay, adjustable in milliseconds, video frames/fields, or samples this two-channel model has eight user-memories. Four of these may be recalled remotely via a GPI port. The 7150 is compatible with Dolby D and Dolby E bit-streams. Maximum delay is 10.4 seconds. Delay increments may be milliseconds, PAL or NTSC frames/fields, or digital samples. Internal processing is 32-bit at 48kHz sample-rate.
The front panel has a 40-character LCD display and momentary push-buttons for delay bypass, panel-lock and memory recall as well as menu navigation. Connections on the rear panel include XLRs for balanced analogue inputs and outputs, AES/EBU input and output and an external digital clock input. A 9-pin D-sub female connector provides a GPI port. The IEC power inlet with integral fuse has an adjacent power switch.
Inputs: 0dBu, 10kohms, analogue; AES/EBU, 110ohms digital. Response: 20Hz-20kHz +0dB -0.5dB. Dynamic range: 120dB. Distortion: -100dB THD+N, total, 20Hz-20kHz. Outputs: 0dBu, 50ohms, analogue; AES/EBU, 110ohms digital. Power source: 90-260V AC, 50/60Hz, 30W. Dimensions: 1U rack mounting, 200mm deep. Weight: 4 kg.
Included accessories: User manual, IEC power cable.
8150 – Eight channels
Providing up to 15 video fields of audio delay, PAL or NTSC, independently adjustable for each of four stereo pairs, this model is useful in situations where video delays are known and likely to remain constant. Maximum delay is 300 ms, 15 PAL fields. Delay increment is one field, with NTSC/PAL selection by internal jumper. Internal processing is 24 bits at 48kHz sample-rate.
For each stereo pair, the front panel has a recessed rotary switch for delay adjustment, calibrated in video fields, a recessed control for analogue input sensitivity and red LEDs indicating peak level and confirmation of AES/EBU lock status. A power LED is also fitted. Connections on the rear panel include female 15-pin D-sub connectors for balanced analogue inputs, outputs and AES/EBU inputs and outputs. An XLR provides an input for an external digital clock. There is also an analogue/digital input selector switch. The IEC power inlet with integral fuse has an adjacent power switch.
Inputs: +6dBu nominal, +15dBu maximum, 25kohms, balanced, analogue; AES/EBU, 110ohms digital. Response: 20Hz-20kHz +0dB -0.5dB. Dynamic range: 120dB. THD+N: -100dB, total, 20Hz-20kHz. Outputs: +6dBu nominal, +15dBu maximum, 50ohms, analogue; AES/EBU, 110ohms digital. Power source: 90-260V AC, 50/60Hz, 35W. Dimensions: 1U rack mounting, 200mm deep. Weight: 3.85 kg.
