Description
SABINE FEEDBACK CONTROLLERS
Sabine automatic feedback controllers are adaptive digital signal processor (DSP) filtering devices which automatically find and eliminate feedback in sound reinforcement systems using a bank of narrow band independent 20 bit digital ‘notch’ filters which may be ‘fixed’ or ‘dynamic’. Fixed filters allow greater gain before feedback and are set to the strongest resonating frequencies of the installed system. Dynamic filters control intermittent feedback that may develop or change during the performance, automatically tracking the feedback as it occurs. Filters are only set to notch as deep as is required to suppress the feedback, thus avoiding damaging the sound, and track the feedback when it drifts. Full brochures are available on request from Technical Support.
FBX1200
The FBX1200 is a 1U rackmounting single channel 24bit digital feedback controller. The unit consists of twelve 1/10 or 1/5 octave digital filters (user selectable) with constant Q. Each filter can be configured as ‘fixed’ or ‘dynamic’ allowing the unit to cope with a wide variety of feedback scenario’s. It uses Sabine’s SMARTFilter technology that differentiates between music and feedback. The unit can be used on a whole mix or sub groups as well as insert points processing individual feeds. The front panel includes a row of multi-coloured LEDs to indicate filter status as well as controls for filter configuration including an ‘Active/Bypass’ switch to allow the unit to be taken out of the signal patch. Back panel includes balanced 3 pin XLR and ¼” TRS jack connections for audio input/output as well as an IEC A/C power inlet.
FBX2410
The FBX2410 is a IU rackmounting, two channel version of the 1200, with two banks of twelve digital octave notch filters, etc.(see FBX1200). Each channel has individual controls as the FBX1200. The signal to noise ratio however has been improved by 10dB, beyond that of the FBX1200.
