Series 31
Illuminated indicator switches, with 18mm square or 24mm × 18mm rectangular black heads and coloured lenses. Available in both locking and non-locking versions, each with 1 or 2 switch elements, each element having one pair of a normally open and a normally closed contact, break-before-make, for general purpose switching. When the locking type is operated, the lens remains in the depressed position, giving a visible indication of status.
Contacts are gold plated silver, rated (per element) 5A 250V AC, 2A 24V DC, 0.1A 220V DC, rated 2 million operations. Solder tag terminals, max. wire size 2 × 0.8mm diameter solid, 1 × 0.75mm² stranded.
Lamps are T13/4 midget groove type, 1.2W, length 15.9mm, diameter 5.9mm.
A mounting socket is available, into which the switch contacts are inserted, to allow use of removable front panels.
Lenses are a two-part construction, with an outer translucent ('semi-opaque') or transparent ('clear') cap, plus inner diffuser. The diffuser may be marked with dry-transfer lettering, or a printed clear film inserted between the diffuser and lens. Black lenses are opaque.
A metal guard is available to help prevent accidental operation of rectangular switches. This has raised metal edges along the shorter side of the switch cap.
Dimensions: Extension in front of panel 10.5mm, max. Panel thickness 6.5mm, depth from front of panel to rear of terminals 29/36.5/44/51.5mm for 1/2/3/4 element switches respectively.
Series 31LL
As Series 31, but specifically designed for switching low level electronic signals, e.g. audio. Available in both locking and non-locking versions, each with one normally open and one normally closed contact, break-before-make.
Ordering note: Switches are ordered in component form, as required. A complete switch assembly comprises: switch, lens and diffuser, plus lamp if required.
