Description
GLENSOUND PORTABLE LINE IDENT UNIT
This handy tool provides a short continuously-repeated message, followed by line-up tone, to identify and ‘hold’ programme lines and channels. A built-in microphone (with compressor and limiter) makes recording of a message, up to 16 seconds long, straightforward. If less than 16 seconds are recorded, the remaining time is filled with 1kHz 0dBU (bridging load) line-up tone. The message is held in non-volatile memory, so it is retained even in the absence of power. Output is on a standard 6.35mm jack which will accept either A or B gauge plugs.
When switched on, the unit replays the existing message and tone, with a flashing front-panel LED indicating signal presence, until the ‘record’ button is pressed. The LED then illuminates continuously, until the record cycle is finished, and the unit returns to continuous replay. The alkaline PP3-size battery (supplied) gives a typical battery life >10 hours continuous use. Dimensions: 150(h) × 80(w) × 30(d)mm. Weight: 240g including battery. Mains powered, rackmounting (1U) units with 5 and 10 channels are also available. Contact Technical Support for details.
Q: How many audio engineers does it take to change a light bulb?
A: “One, Two, Testing... One, Two... One, Two...” – unless one of them has a Line Ident Unit!
