SECURITY RACKMOUNT BOLTS
Unauthorised removal of valuable studio equipment is regrettably becoming a more common problem, particularly in locations such as recording studios, educational establishments, theatres and other areas with relatively open access. Whilst virtually nothing will stop a determined thief, some degree of making removal of rackmounted equipment more difficult may prove helpful.
These are M6 threaded, 20mm stainless steel screws with a button head and special Torx tamper-proof recess. They are virtually impossible to remove without the correct tool, and thus will go some way towards preventing opportunist theft.
As these are button head screws, whilst the Canford rackmount washers (stock code 16-085) will fit, as they are designed for use with the normal cheese head rack bolts, they don’t look very nice. An alternative would be a plain M6 washer (stock code 16-031), which will help to prevent marking of the equipment fascia, or help stabilise mounting of equipment with unusually large rack flange holes or slots.
A suitable tool is also available. Note however that we will only supply this tool on receipt of written orders.
