CANFORD BNC HD 3Gb/s 1080p 75 OHM/XLR TERMINATION PANELS
3Gb/s 1080p HDTV, 1.5Gb/s 1080i HDTV, SDTV, Analogue video, Analogue and AES Digital audio
These “High Definition” 75 ohm panels are intended for 3G and 1.5G high definition, standard definition and analogue video applications. The performance exceeds the requirements of SMPTE292M and SMPTE424M making them suitable for composite and component video, 270 Mb/s SDV and uncompressed 1080i or 1080p HD-SDI video up to 3Gb/s. They are supplied fully-populated with Canford insulated, double-sided, “High Definition”, 75 ohm BNC HD 3Gb/s sockets and one row (in 2U panels) or two rows (in 3U panels) of 16 Neutrik D-series XLR connectors. The need to minimise the supporting PTFE insulator in the construction makes them less robust than the “normal “ 75 ohm types; the “normal” type is therefore the preferred choice for routine SDV applications; the 50 ohm type is recommended for analogue use only, see separate entries.
Five combinations of 3-pin XLR males and latching females are available as standard, all have nickel-plated shells and silver-plated contacts and are mounted from the rear of the panel. Custom D- series connector-combinations can be assembled to special order and may include any other D-series mounting connector. We will require a drawing or sketch to start assembly, which will normally be completed within a few days, more urgent requirements can usually be met the same day on request. Manufactured from a rigid aluminium extrusion, panels are fitted with a cranked lacing-bar for each row of connectors, giving easy access to the rear. A designation-strip holder with snap-on cover is fitted above each connector row and permits paper strips to be inserted before or after installation; 7.5mm of printable height is available. Autocad templates for printing designation strips are available for download from the Tech Zone at www.canford.co.uk or by contacting Technical Support.
Available finished in Dawn Grey (BS4800-10A03) or Black. Spare 432mm designation-strip paper (not suitable for printers) and covers are available, see 'Designation strips - snap on'.
Recess rack-mounting brackets are available to recess panels within the rack and an optional tamper-proof cover-plate can be fitted and removed without disturbing the panel mountings, see “Recess rack-mounting brackets and anti-tamper covers”.
Application note:
Care should be taken when selecting a recess depth to ensure that cables fitted behind cover-plates are not bent below their recommended minimum bend radius.
