E-FILMS SDHC AND SDXC MEMORY ADAPTERS
The E-Films MxR Expresscard memory card adapters allow SDHC and SDXC memory cards to be used with Sony EX1, EX3, EX1R and PMW-350 camcorders in lieu of the proprietary SxS format. They were engineered from the ground up to allow SDHC and SDXC cards to be used just like tape, giving the advantages of flash memory, with the security, flexibility and affordability of traditional tape workflows. SD offers a small form factor, fast download speeds and high capacity recording. The innovative MxR adapters give you the capability to quickly and easily swap out the SD cards on the fly, just like tape. The decreasing costs of SDHC and SDXC cards now permit the archiving of the original shoot SD card.
Supporting 4GB to 32GB SDHC and 32GB to 64GB SDXC cards between them, the MxR adapters record all major video formats supported by the above Sony cameras. Designed to fit precisely into the Sony drive bay to retain full functionality of camera bay doors, they retain all on-the-fly switching and copying features of the camera series.
MxR Expresscard
The Expresscard is capable of recording 224 minutes, that's 3 hours 44 minutes, on a single SDXC memory card. Other adapters can only record 104 minutes onto an SDXC card.
Although the MxR is compatible with almost all types of SDHC and SDXC memory, only the following have shown, over time, to be both robust and reliable. Recommended for use with Sandisk 64GB SDXC cards, Sandisk Extreme 16GB/32GB Class 10 SDHC, Transcend 16GB Class 10 SDHC memory cards. Cards from other manufacturers are not proven to work reliably in this application (usually due to controller firmware issues).
Supports SDHC from 4GB to 32GB, SDXC at 64GB.
The unique push in, push out mechanism in the MXR adapters allows for easy change of SDHC and SDXC cards to ensure media is always ready to continue shooting. Adapters are supplied complete with a protective plastic case.
The MXR adapters require the latest camcorder firmware. As a guideline the following firmware versions are current at time of press.
Note: To swap memory cards, the adapter should first be ejected from the camera, to ensure the camera recognises the presence of new media.
