These accessories, which fit in the roof of 262 series and 296 series rack cabinets, assist the natural convection of the air to increase cooling.
The steel trays, fitted with either two or four fans, fix to the top frames of the rack and take up none of the rack-mounting space. Note, however, that if an item of equipment mounted in the top of the rack blocks the airflow of one or more of the fans, efficacy of extraction will be reduced greatly. Fans are fitted with fan guards and filters on the lower side. Airflow is upwards. The fan trays may be fitted to racks which are 600mm or 800mm wide; they fasten to the front and rear sections of the rack frame. Fasteners supplied.
A fan tray designed for a smaller depth of rack may be fitted in a deeper rack using a transition kit, two steel brackets which make up the extra space. Fasteners supplied.
The trays have an IEC connector and are supplied with a mating cable wired to a UK 13A plug with a 2 metre lead.
