TAPE HEAD DEFLUXER

Demagnetises tape heads and guides on open reel machines. Specially shaped plastic coated tip. Slight magnetisation of any metal parts in contact with the tape can cause irrevocable damage to recordings by increasing the level of background noise and partially erasing high frequencies. Regular use of a defluxer, particularly before valuable recordings are played or made, is therefore desirable.
