With the greater than ever use of semi-pro and consumer interconnect products the importance of the humble adapter has increased significantly. Inevitably this leads to the odd hiccup in mating two products or cables together which is why Canford has produced a range of audio and video adapters (or adaptors as our US cousins would say) that should solve a lot of problems. Canford also stock suitable cables and patch cords for these products.

Canford is about to retire all our old analogue exchange numbers leaving only the numbers you will have seen advertised for the last decade. We moved to a digital PABX in 1999 welcoming in the new millennium with the latest in digital technology. The transfer was highly successful providing a range of direct dial numbers for our customers to reach any of our departments without having to go directly through the Canford switchboard

Did you know that when Canford publishes its catalogue we undertake to stick to the prices printed inside for the entire life of the book except in the most exceptional circumstances? In 32 years we have only ever had to change prices once in the middle of a catalogue cycle. That’s not a bad record we think you’ll agree. This year that means our prices are even more competitive on many top brands.

Roger Lucas, one of the UK’s top sound recordists, has been using Panamic boom poles from as far back as he can remember and rates them as the best in the business. Roger has used the poles in the widest variety of challenging locations and on some of the UK’s favourite TV shows. He is about to put his Panamics through another gruelling shoot in the Syrian Desert.

In July, a multi-ability team of disabled and non-disabled adults climbed Kilimanjaro accompanied by a film crew. This was a very real challenge - on average, ten climbers die each year while trying to reach the summit.

…and begins re-using. One of the biggest impacts Canford has on the environment is in our necessary use of packaging in various forms. From this point forward Canford will re-use all boxes and other packaging materials wherever possible when packing your order for despatch, a scheme that is even more environmentally friendly than recycling as no energy input is required.

PLASA 2008 runs from September 7th – 10th and we’ll be showing a range of our latest products. These include three new Tecpro Beltpacks and the recently released Tecpro MS745 Master Station. Other products include the stand-alone Telex SYS243 Wireless intercom system (which may be interfaced to Tecpro wired products) and the SuperRod pulling system recently voted the ‘Best new product of the last 50 years’. Canford is launching additions to their extensive range of MDUs, the new 32A MDU10 series. Also showing will be three new products from Sonifex – the RB-DS2 stereo digital delay and two of the new Sonifex 1U rack-mounted reference monitors, the 4 channel RM-2S4 and the 8 channel RM-4C8. Also the new Hoodman Wristshot. These products and others can be seen at IBC on our stand in Hall 9 E10 (9.E10).

The Canford Clearance List has just been updated with more price reductions and additional items. These are all completely new and unused products from our warehouse that we have decided to let go at ‘give away’ prices as we head towards our year-end stocktake. In all cases, stocks are limited, often just one or two, so early action is recommended. There are loads of slightly dusty items that have been on the shelves for some time, which we would prefer to go a good home rather than into our skip, priced at 10p, 5p or even 1p!
