Audionics Going Swimmingly |
|
Audionics, a long time Canford supplier, was holding its collective breath and hoping for the river Don to subside as flooding hit parts of the UK’sYorkshire area in mid January. Based in Sheffield in South Yorkshire, they had been badly affected in summer 2007 by the extensive flooding to the City but on this January occasion the danger passed.
Last summer the scene around the Audionics factory was one of devastation of almost biblical proportions. Along with much of the South Yorkshire area and many other parts of the UK the Don’s river system simply could not cope with the deluge of rainwater that had fallen. Worse for Audionics, they are based just metres from the Don so are right in the front line and have only recently returned to full production. The factory, their car park and the surrounding streets were severely hit, with the flooding on the factory floor itself reaching knee height! Some of the scenes would have been almost comedic if the consequences for the residents and businesses had not been so very serious. The picture of the RAF Rescue helicopter winching up someone from an adjacent factory unit tells the story. Owners Phil Davies, Phil Myers and their team have had to work hard to bring production back online and restore their business systems to their former level and are now looking to the future. The new Canford catalogue contains a substantial part of the Audionics range including a novel addition in the form of the Audionics Distributed Monitor System. Canford is looking forward to developing our relationship with a reinvigorated Audionics and wishes them all the best for the future.
