DPA MICROPHONES - Interview - d:sign CORE series
This interview microphone kit from DPA has been designed and manufactured for broadcast audio where distancing between subject and engineer is of benefit to help prevent that passing of viruses often passed via close contact.
The DPA CORE Interview Kit allows sound engineers to obtain high quality audio whilst retaining distance between engineer and subject. A Manfrotto boompole extends to 140cm and holds the CORE 4097 mini shotgun gooseneck microphone via the included CS4099 cold shoe mount. When collapsed the kit is around 40cm in length and 330g in weight.
This kit comprises of;
- 1x 4097-DC-G-B100-010 CORE 4097 Micro Shotgun microphone
- 1x CM2218B00 1.8m MicroDot cable
- 1x Plate for transmitter bodypack
- 1x 330mm hook and loop strap
- 1x CS4099 cold shoe mount
- 1x Rycote Windjammer with DPA 4099 Mini Windjammer
- 1x 40-140cm Manfrotto MPCOMPACT-BK telescopic boom
The included 1.8m MicroDot cable links the microphone capsule to the handle of the boompole, whereby a bodypack transmitter can be attached using the included plate and hook and look system. Various optional MicroDot adapters are available to suit a variety of transmitter connection types. The transmitter plate can also be attached to the base end of the boompole if preferred.
4097 CORE has a ‘highly directional’ pickup pattern with a linear response and large dynamic range of 110dB typical to offer a natural sound from quiet to loud vocal performances. Off-axis pickup, when the audio is captured from the side of the microphone capsule, retains the audio quality however it lowers the input level captured. This is especially useful when an engineer needs to use fewer microphones as pointing at the back row of the choir balances the sound with the side pickup from the front rows of singers.
Frequency response: 20Hz – 20kHz. Frequency range, +/- 2dB, 20cm: 80Hz – 15kHz, with 2dB soft boost at 10-12kHz. Sensitivity: 16mV/Pa, -36dB re 1V/Pa. Equivalent noise level: 23dB typical. S/N ratio: 71dB, A-weighted, 1kHz at 1Pa, 94dB SPL. Total harmonic distortion: less than 1%, up to 133dB peak. Dynamic range: 110dB, typical. Maximum SPL: 135dB, before clipping.
