DPA MICROPHONES - Miniature - d:screet CORE series
The DPA CORE series implements new technology within existing DPA capsules, to provide a more defined sound by minimising distortion and expanding the dynamic range. Although originally designed for use with wireless systems in theatre, television and close-positioned instrument applications, the omnidirectional capsules also use 'hermetic sealing' and a 'nano coating' to provide an IP rating of 58 - particularly relevant to on-field sports, where moisture from the body or atmosphere are unavoidable.
The acoustic response of the microphone is selected by the choice of two 'protection grids' supplied with each microphone. The short grid gives a 3dB soft boost at 8-20kHz and is intended to be used when the microphone is mounted on the performer's head. The long grid gives a 10dB boost at 12kHz, intended for chest placement. The grids can be detached from the microphone and cleaned of sweat, make-up etc. with alcohol.
The microphones are fitted with cable terminated in a 'MicroDot' connector. A range of adapters for different wireless transmitters and direct cable connection is available. A range of fixing clips (not included) are also available.
Available in black, brown, beige or white, the omnidirectional DPA CORE 4060 has a 6dB increase over the Legacy 4060 capsule, giving a dynamic range of 106dB typical, and a maximum SPL of 129dB. A frequency range of 20Hz-20kHz is produced by this pre-polarised condenser microphone. With a nominal sensitivity of 20mV/Pa, the 4060 is best suited for close pick-up of voice or instrument. It has a fixed cable of 1.8m length and a total weight of 7.5g including MicroDot connector.
Available in black, brown, beige or white, the omnidirectional DPA CORE 4061 has a 14dB increase over the Legacy 4061 capsule, giving a dynamic range of 111dB typical, and a maximum SPL of 137dB. Frequency response and physical properties are the same as the CORE 4060. A nominal sensitivity of 6mV/Pa means the CORE 4061 is suited to hidden, head-mounted applications in venues such as theatres.
The CORE 4062 is available in black or beige. This is an omnidirectional capsule that has an 'extremely loud' maximum SPL, suited to very loud noise situations and positions such as car exhausts or engine bays.
This capsule is available in black, beige or white. DPA CORE 4063 is similar to the CORE 4060, but with the addition of an FET preamplifier at the input stage, for better operation, with full performance, on lower voltage supplies. Power supply for full performance: 3-30V for wireless systems through DPA adapter; 48V +/-4V phantom power with DAD6001-BC/DAD6024/DAD4099. With a 12dB increase from the Legacy 4063 capsule, the CORE 4063 gives a dynamic range of 109dB and a maximum SPL of 135dB.
Available in black only, the DPA CORE 4071 omnidirectional microphone is designed specifically for ENG work. A low-cut filter below 100Hz and a 5dB soft presence boost between 4-6kHz to give better speech reproduction. The microphone is designed to cater for loud SPL application.
Available in black only, the DPA CORE 4080 is an acoustically pre-equalized, cardioid, lavalier microphone. The microphone is supplied with a pre-mounted pop filter with integrated shock mount. A clip is provided to attach to clothing. This microphone is NOT compatible with the optional long or short boost grids.
The CORE 4060 lavalier kit is an all-in-one solution for those requiring a lavalier microphone. The kit includes 1x CORE 4060, 1x DAD6001-BC, 1x SCM0017 microphone holder, 1x DUA6001, and 1x DUA6002.
The CORE 4071 ENG/EFP kit is an all-in-one solution for use in ENG/EFP applications. The kit includes 1x CORE 4071, 1x DAD6001-BC, 1x DMM0003-B, 1x DMM0002-B, 1x DUA0570, 1x fur windscreen, and 1x miniature mesh.
This is aimed at film and broadcast applications. The kit includes 1x CORE 4071, 10x double-sided concealer tape, 10x double sided microphone tape, 1x miniature mesh.
The CORE 4060 stereo microphone kit includes two 'handpicked' CORE 4060 microphones with a sensitivity differential of less than 1.5dB.
The CORE 4061 stereo microphone kit includes two 'handpicked' CORE 4061 microphones with a sensitivity differential of less than 1.5dB is also available.
These adapters allow DPA miniature microphones to be connected to various radio microphone transmitters or a standard 48V phantom powered XLR connector. Note that the adapters contain circuitry to pass the correct supply voltage to the microphone, so may not be suitable for use with other miniature microphones. Adapters are available for most UHF transmitters. If an adapter is required for a transmitter not listed here, please contact Technical Support.
