SONIFEX REFERENCE METERS - LED Bar-graph
These free-standing and rack-mounting precision meters offer accurate, high-resolution audio metering of between one and four stereo audio signals, each auto-switching between either analogue or digital AES/EBU format, with sample-rates of up to 192kHz. The level of each stereo source is displayed on a pair of bright, multi-coloured bar graph meters, with a large choice of accurately modelled scales and responses to suit different applications and local preferences. Separate five-LED phase meters indicate channel correlation or phase-error conditions, and additional LEDs show digital-input lock and audio-level alarm status.
Alarm outputs provide hardware indication of audio under-level or silence, audio over-level, sustained phase errors above 90 degrees and digital source-lock. These are open-collector outputs. Status monitoring and unit ID functions, plus firmware updates to add extra functionality, are all accessible remotely via a RS232 connection in conjunction with Sonifex SCi software.
There are nine meter scales available with accurately modelled ballistics. Each stereo meter pair can have a different scale, set via a switch on the rear panel. A complete set of self-adhesive overlays are provided per stereo meter.
Each stereo meter has two horizontal LED bar-graphs, with an inset area for the meter scale. To the left are the AES lock, level alarm LEDs and the reset switch. Below the bar-graphs there is a screwdriver-operated adjustment for meter brightness; to the right are the five phase LEDs. Dual stereo meters have two groups of the same.
On the rear there are pairs of XLR female connectors for audio inputs. In each case, an AES/EBU is applied to the ‘Left’ analogue input. Remote control and RS232 serial ports are provided by 15-pin and 9-pin female D-sub connectors respectfully. Two banks of eight sub miniature (DIP) switches provide settings. Power is applied to an IEC inlet with adjacent fuse.

These each have a single group of indicators and controls on the front panels, as described above. The rear has a single pair of female XLR connectors for audio inputs. RM-M1F53 is free-standing, RM-M1R53 has a 19-inch wide rack-mounting front panel.
These each have two groups of indicators and controls on the front panels, to give two stereo meters. The rear has two pairs of female XLR connectors for audio inputs. RM-M2F53 is free-standing, RM-M2R53 has a 19-inch wide rack-mounting front panel.
RM-M4R53 - Quad stereo - 53-segment
This is effectively two RM-M1F53 units mounted on a 19-inch wide rack-mounting front panel giving four stereo meters. Note that two AC power connections will be required. (Two leads are supplied).
RM-M1F106, RM-M1R106 - Stereo - 106-segment - Dual input
This has a single stereo meter, but has, in addition an input selection button to choose between audio inputs one and two or a mono mix of each left and a mono mix of each right channel to the left and right meters respectively. On the rear there are two pairs of female XLR connectors for audio inputs, one for input one, the other for input two.
RM-M2R106 - Dual stereo - 106-segment - Dual input
This is effectively two RM-M1F106 units mounted on a 19-inch wide rack-mounting front panel giving two stereo meters. There are dual inputs and a input selection switch for each meter. Note that two AC power connections will be required. (Two leads are supplied).
This may be fitted to either a RM-M1F53, RM-M2F53 or RM-M1F106 meter. It screws to the rear panel and has a side adjustment for the pitch of the unit.
