NEW: “Pluggable” Lusem OxLinx HDMI cables

Canford announce new “Pluggable” version of the Lusem OxLinx range extending HDMI cables which distribute HDMI without the need for bulky converter boxes or external power supplies.

Aimed primarily at system integrators providing digital signage solutions, retail display systems and video conferencing facilities in meeting rooms, Lusem OxLinx HDMI cables offer integrators a cost effective plug and play means of extending HDMI signals up to 100m with a single cable.

Responding to customer feedback, OxLinx LHM-P pluggable cables have been developed to further aid fixed installation. They are terminated with micro HDMI Type-D connectors and supplied complete with custom screw-locking HDMI Type-A adapters.

The new pluggable micro HDMI cables reduce the likelihood of snagging as the cable is pulled through conduit, fed through voids or behind plaster board. Other benefits may include applications where cables must pass through congested and/or small apertures, such as internally wired brackets and mounts.

Original cables prefixed LHM-N are terminated with standard HDMI Type-A connectors and will co-exist alongside the new LHM-P pluggable versions.

OxLinx HDMI cables represent a complete solution. When compared with hardware costs of an equivalent converter box system, including cabling and power supplies OxLinx cables offer comparable value with many benefits.

Factor in time and cost savings achieved on-site due to having only one cable to pull, and no requirements for additional 13-AMP sockets, otherwise required to power converter boxes, and you begin to realise the value on offer. Add EMI and RFI immunity, and the simplicity of using a single plug-and-play product, eliminating potential interoperability issues, and Lusem OxLinx HDMI cables become an obvious choice for system integrators.Stephen Gallagher, Canford Product Manager

Pluggable cables are otherwise identical to LHM-N.  Only 3.4mm diameter and comprise of four optical fibres for the video and audio signals, six copper wires for HDMI control signalling and CEC functions and Kevlar reinforcement to give a pulling strength of 500N (50kg).

Cables are available in a range of lengths from 10 to 100m, all cables have LSOH (low smoke zero halogen) cable jacket. They handle 4K@30Hz, 1080p@60Hz Full HD signals, multi-channel audio and are HDMI 1.4 compliant. Power consumption is 0.5W.

Lusem is a subsidiary of LG Corporation in Korea and focuses on design and manufacture of display circuit devices for LG Display & LG Electronics.

A large number of venues and rental companies use Tecpro, Clear-Com, RTS-TW and similar analogue partyline (sometimes referred to as 2-wire) intercom systems. Many users find that two channels of intercom provide them with all the facilities they need and the only thing they would like to add is a small number of wireless beltpacks to allow selected users to move around freely.
