Roger Lucas, one of the UK’s top sound recordists, has been using Panamic boom poles from as far back as he can remember and rates them as the best in the business. Roger has used the poles in the widest variety of challenging locations and on some of the UK’s favourite TV shows. He is about to put his Panamics through another gruelling shoot in the Syrian Desert.
In July, a multi-ability team of disabled and non-disabled adults climbed Kilimanjaro accompanied by a film crew. This was a very real challenge - on average, ten climbers die each year while trying to reach the summit.

Canford sponsored the craft award for audio at the Royal Television Society (RTS) recent annual awards ceremony, the largest UK event of its kind outside London. We have been a sponsor of The RTS North East & Borders Centre awards for many years and it is with great pleasure we can announce this years winner as Peter Groom of Dene Films. The award was presented to Peter by our CEO Chas Kennedy at the ceremony held at The Sage Gateshead on February 23rd.
Britannia Row Productions, the world renowned live production specialist, has just taken delivery of a large quantity of Tecpro headsets and RTS beltpacks and power supplies. Britannia Row was able to ask Canford to customise the headsets to make them compatible with the RTS beltpacks.
Panamic booms are currently being used exclusively on productions of series Tank Overhaul, the History Channel programme. Paul Adlaf, the award winning Canadian sound recordist from Toronto is the sound man for the show and swears by the products. It’s currently being filmed at The Imperial War Museum at Duxford in the UK.
