Designed for a variety of small and medium-scale sound-reinforcement applications, the Tannoy DVS series are ultra-compact, surface-mounting loudspeakers. 'Full bandwidth' types, they are designed for commercial, professional and residential applications where 'environmental durability and high quality sound reproduction are required'. For both indoor and limited outdoor use, these speakers are suited to stereo or monol background or foreground music systems in such applications as theme parks, retail premises, restaurants and cafes, hotel lobbies and bars, corporate audio-visual and houses of worship.
All models are based around point-source driver designs, comprising a mid-bass drivers with coaxially-mounted, high-frequency sections mounted in injection-moulded surface-mount enclosures, manufactured from UV and weather-resistant ABS. They are certified for water and dust ingress protection to IP64 standard, so are capable of performing in challenging interior areas such as swimming pools, saunas or work areas where unusually high levels of dust or moisture may be present, as well as many outdoor applications where extreme environmental or harsh weather conditions are not a typical concern.
The durable and scuff-resistant enclosures are offered in black or white painted finish with integral aluminium grilles. A colour-matched steel yoke bracket is included; audio connection is via 'euroblock' screw-terminal connectors. Due to the point-source driver design, the DVS series can be mounted vertically or horizontally without compromising the dispersion and coverage control.
All models have a 6 ohms low impedance connection; 't' subscript models, have, in addition, an internally-mounted line transformer, for 70V or 100V distributed sound applications. Power taps are set with a rotary switch located on the rear.
