BLACKMAGIC DESIGN DISK RECORDERS - Video

The Hyperdeck range includes a portable field recorder and rack-mounting, broadcast-style, recording decks recording SDI or HDMI video on interchangeable solid-state disks.

HyperDeck Shuttle

This is a battery-powered, portable, field recorder for live production or applications such as digital signage. It can dramatically improve the quality of video files by bypassing the camera’s compression and recording from SDI and HDMI outputs, offering the quality and flexibility of compressed ProRes or DNxHD and uncompressed recording direct to common low-cost SSDs. Editing can take place later, directly from the SSD media itself, eliminating file copying.

It has an internal battery, conventional 'transport' controls, SDI (mini-BNC) and HDMI inputs and outputs, a USB 2.0 connection and a DC input for 12v power supply. It can run of the supplied power adapter, which also charges the internal battery, or an external source 12V to 18V. A adapter cable pack is offered to convert the SDI connections to standard BNC.

HyperDeck Studio

This is a rack-mounting recorder for recording and playback of SDI or HDMI video on solid-state disks. It has 'dual disk-slots for unlimited recording. The moment one disk is full, recording can continue to the next disk'. 'HyperDeck Studio supports uncompressed and compressed DNxHD recording into QuickTime and MXF files so you can simply mount the disks and edit media directly without any file copying' and is suitable for 'live production, instant replays, disk server use'.

The recorder rack-mounts in 1U, is AC powered via an IEC inlet, has ethernet and USB ports as well as SDI and HDMI in and out connectors. It is controlled by two sets of conventional 'transport' controls, an inut selection control and jogwheel, together with a miniature LCD monitor on the front panel.
