BLACKMAGIC DESIGN VIDEO RECORDING INTERFACES - H264
The H.264 Pro Recorder may be used to capture from video sources, players and broadcast decks to SD and HD H.264 files, which can be recorded onto computer systems via USB, perhaps to create video for the web, YouTube, iPhone and iPad or to archive old programming, news footage and other materials that might be on old videotape formats, before the tapes deteriorate. Blackmagic Design's Media Express software is included, for frame accurate deck control, through the RS232 port, with EDL import.
The video input may be selected between SDI(10-bit), HDMI and analogue composite and component video inputs. Audio may be taken from the SDI, HDMI or stereo, balanced, analogue audio, input jacks. H.264 can be connected directly to HD or SD video sources because the SDI, HDMI and analogue component inputs all switch between formats. Thus capture can be from HDCAM, Digital Betacam, Betacam SP, DVD players and more. A USB socket is provided to a computer with a USB 2.0 port.
