DPA MICROPHONES - Miniature - d:screet series

Originally designed for use with wireless systems in theatre, television and close-positioned instrument applications, this d:screet series of miniature microphones use a 5.4mm diameter pre-polarised condenser element with a vertical diaphragm, specifically to cope with sweat, humidity, wind and 'popping'.

The acoustic response of the microphone is selected by a choice of two 'protection grids', supplied with each microphone. The short grid gives a 3dB soft boost at 8-20kHz and is intended to be used when the microphone is mounted on the performer's head. The long grid gives a 10dB boost at 12kHz for chest placement. The grids can be detached from the microphone and cleaned of sweat, make-up etc. with alcohol.

The microphones are fitted with cable terminated in a 'MicroDot' connector. A range of adapters for different wireless transmitters and direct cable connection is available.

A range of fixing clips (not included) are also available.

4060

Available in black, brown, beige or white, the DPA 4060 has nominal sensitivity of 20mV/Pa, and a noise-floor of 23dB(A) re 20uPa. If powered correctly, the microphone will be able to handle sound pressure levels up to 134dB SPL before clipping occurs.

4061

Available in black, brown, beige or white, the DPA 4061 is acoustically identical to the DPA 4060, but the sensitivity is adjusted to 6mV/Pa to match the most sensitive transmitters on the market or extremely high sound levels. The noise-floor of the DPA 4061 is 26dB(A) re 20uPa. If powered correctly the microphone will be able to handle sound pressure levels up to 144dB SPL before clipping occurs.

4062

Available in black or beige, the DPA 4062 is acoustically identical to the DPA 4060, but the sensitivity is adjusted to 1mV/Pa to match the most sensitive transmitters on the market or extremely high sound levels. The noise floor of the DPA 4062 is 33dB(A) re 20uPa. If powered correctly the microphone will be able to handle sound pressure levels up to 154dB SPL before clipping occurs.

4063

Available in black, beige or white the DPA 4063 is acoustically identical to the DPA 4060, but the addition of a FET preamplifier at the input stage for better operation with full performance on lower voltage supplies. Power supply for full performance: 3-30V for wireless systems through DPA adapter; 48V +/-4V phantom power with DAD6001-BC/DAD6024/DAD4099. The noise floor of the DPA 4063 is 26dB(A) re 20uPa. If powered correctly the microphone will be able to handle sound pressure levels up to 138dB SPL before clipping occurs.

4071

Available in black, beige or white, the DPA 4071 omnidirectional microphone is designed specifically for ENG work. Frequency response is 20Hz to 20kHz, with a low-cut filter below 100Hz and a 5dB soft presence boost between 4-6kHz to give better speech reproduction. The noise floor of the DPA 4071 is 26dB(A) re 20uPa. If powered correctly the microphone will be able to handle sound pressure levels up to 144dB SPL before clipping occurs.

4080

Available in black only, the DPA 4080 is an acoustically pre-equalized, cardioid, lavalier microphone. A 4dB soft presence boost at 4-6kHz makes speech more intelligible. The microphone is supplied with a pre-mounted pop filter with integrated shock mount. A clip is provided to attached to clothing. The noise floor of the DPA 4080 is 23dB(A) re 20uPa. If powered correctly the microphone will be able to handle sound pressure levels up to 134dB SPL before clipping occurs. This microphone is NOT compatible with the optional long or short boost grids.

Adapters

These adapters allow DPA miniature microphones to be connected to various radio microphone transmitters or a standard 48V phantom powered XLR connector. Note that the adapters contain circuitry to pass the correct supply voltage to the microphone, so may not be suitable for use with other miniature microphones. Adapters are available for most UHF transmitters. If an adapter is required for a transmitter not listed here, please contact Technical Support.

Fixing accessories

The range of fixing accessories grip the cable of the microphone.

Note:

DPA Microphones began as the distribution arm of Bruel & Kjaer studio microphones, but are now manufacturing the microphones themselves, hence the change of name. The 4000 series microphones still utilise Bruel & Kjaer capsules.
