This range of rack-mounting shelves have circuitry built into the base of the shelf to offer an extremely simple, elegant and tidy means of interfacing equipment with domestic and semi-professional connections and signal levels to professional, balanced, line-level equipment. The range now includes versions for both stereo and surround sound equipment.
AS2 - Bi-directional - Stereo - Standard Depth
Two 3U metal flanges attach to the rack and support a tray containing the interface circuitry. An adjustable backstop is provided to locate the rear feet of the equipment, and prevent it sliding back into the rack.
The front panel has a power indicator and four multi-turn gain trim controls are accessible through front panel holes. Internal circuit board jumpers are provided to adjust the earthing regime. Performance is superior to the majority of the semi-professional equipment that will be used with the shelves.
On the rear panel are two male and two female XLR balanced connections for connection to the professional system. Four unbalanced RCA (phono) sockets are provided to connect to the equipment mounted in the shelf. Power for the shelf is connected to an IEC inlet with an associated switch to select AC voltage.
Useable volume for the equipment: 441 x 305 x 105 (w x d x h) mm. Since the rear of the rack is open, deeper equipment can be installed, provided that the rear feet are supported by the shelf.

AS2d - Bi-directional - Stereo - Extra Deep
This version is similar to the AS2, differing in the depth available in the shelf for the equipment. The usable volume is: 441 x 460 x 105 (w x d x h) mm. Again, since the rear of the rack is open, deeper equipment can be installed, provided that the rear feet are supported by the shelf.
Technical data and accessories are unchanged, except as follows. Dimensions: 3U rack-mounting, 462mm depth overall. Weight: 5.95kg.
AS3o - Output only - Stereo and 5.1 Surround
Again this version is similar to the AS2, but is intended for use with surround-sound equipment with left and right total outputs as well as the 5.1 surround outputs. On the front there are eight, rather than four multi-turn gain trim controls. On the rear there are eight RCA (phono) connections to the equipment and the corresponding eight outputs to the professional system are provided using a female 25-pin D-sub connector, wired to the ubiquitous Tascam standard. There are no XLR connectors. Otherwise the features are the same as the AS2.
Technical data is similar to the AS2, excepting that there are no balanced inputs, and the following. Power source: 110-120V or 220-240V AC 12W maximum. Dimensions: 3U rack-mounting, 307mm depth overall. Weight: 4.4kg.

AS3i - Bi-directional - Stereo In, 5.1 Surround Out
This version is similar to the AS2, but is intended for use with surround-sound equipment requiring a stereo input from the external system as well as the 5.1 surround outputs. On the front there are eight, rather than four multi-turn gain trim controls. On the rear there are eight RCA (phono) connections to the equipment and the corresponding eight connections to the professional system are provided using a female 25-pin D-sub connector, wired to the ubiquitous Tascam standard. There are no XLR connectors. Otherwise the features are the same as the AS2.
Technical data is similar to the AS2, except for power source, dimensions and weight which are the same as the AS3. Accessories are also as for the AS3.
