CANFORD PRO-INTERFACE MK 2 - Rack mounting

A dual, bi-directional rack-mounting (1U) stereo interface, for matching two pieces of “semi-pro” or “domestic” equipment, including cassette machines, video recorders and DAT machines for example, to the higher audio levels and differing connection methods of “professional” environments. This compact design is constructed in a 1U enclosure only 92mm deep, with all connections on the rear panel. For each piece of equipment there are four XLR connectors, two are female connecting to high-impedance, electronically-balanced, line-level inputs, and two are male, fed from electronically-balanced low-impedance, line-level outputs. These four connections are to interface with the “professional” environment, but may also be connected unbalanced without loss of level. They are designed to connect with up to 100m FST cable (or similar) to standard line-level (low source, high or “bridging” load impedance) interfaces. RCA (phono) connectors are provided to connect to the “semi-pro” device. All are connected unbalanced, and have an adjacent associated multi-turn gain control to adjust the operating level of the attached device to the line-up level of the “pro” environment. An IEC inlet with fuse provides connection to the mains supply (cable not included). The front panel has only an LED, to indicate power connection. Source material is offered to aid alignment, see Test discs and tapes.
