Denon CD recorders have been designed for professional use within broadcast, studio or entertainment applications and can be mounted in a 19-inch rack. TheDenon DN300CR is a 2U, 2-channel (stereo), front tray-loading CD recorder.

This has the ability to record onto CD-R and CD-RW media as well as playback CD formats including CD, CD-R, CD-R-DA, CD-RW, CD-RW-DA, with CD-RW 24X also supported.
The front panel of the DN-300CR has a large OLED display that displays CD-text and ID3 tags as well as menu functionality and settings. Two buttons, 'Menu' and 'Display', switch the display between menu folders and time mode display; a rotary/push-to-enter control allows for setting adjustments. A dual-layer rotary control sets the input levels for both left and right input channels, transport controls include stop, play, pause and record. A 'Sync Rec' button can be used to pre-set a specified input level, between -72dB and -24dB (in 6dB steps), that when sensed automatically begins the recording process. In this mode, recording is ended when silence of more than five seconds is detected. A 'Fade' button allows the user to create a fade in and/or out from 1-30 seconds. Other function buttons include 'Repeat', 'Source', 'Finalize', and 'Erase'. A timer playback on/off switch enables the DN-300CR to automatically begin CD playback when powered on - this is a useful function for retail environments when combined with a commercially available mains power on/off timer device.
Other than a balanced 6.35mm, 32ohm headphone output with volume control, which is positioned to the left of the front panel, the rear of the unit houses all analogue and digital I/O connections along with 100-240V IEC AC mains input. Dual unbalanced RCA (phono) inputs and dual RCA (phono) outputs are positioned next to balanced L/R analogue audio outputs using 3-pin XLR connectors. Digital I/O is provided by coaxial and optical connections.
