LEN POWER INJECTORS AND STRIPPERS - Power and video over co-ax

These modules are used to combine HD SDI video and DC power over the same co-axial cable, and extract separate power and video at the end of the cable. The design gives 'excellent isolation' between the power and video signals at both ends of the cable. Typical applications include supplying DC power to remote LCD Monitors or in-line SDI repeaters to extend a cable run. They can also be used to drive a remote SDI video switch, such as an SDI relay.

They are constructed in black-anodised extruded aluminium cases with black plastic end-plates.

Common specifications:

Video inputs and outputs: SD, HD SDI digital video, 75 ohms, BNC.
Power connectors: 4-pin XLR, pin-1 ground, pin-4 positive.
Dimensions: 63 x 47 x 30(l x w x h)mm. Weight: 100g, injector. 110g, stripper.

Included accessories: Instructions.
Optional accessories: A power supply to suit the application, see Powering.

LPCI01 - Power Injector

On one end-plate there is a male XLR for the power input and a female BNC connector for the video input. The other end-plate carries a female BNC connector for the output to the cable carrying the combined power and video.

Power input: 48V DC maximum, 4A maximum.

LPCS01 - Power Stripper

On one end-plate there is a female BNC input connector for the cable carrying the combined power and video. The other end-plate carries a female XLR for the power output and a female BNC connector for the video output.

Power input from the cable with the combined signal: 48V DC, 4A, maximum. Power output: This depends upon the input voltage and the voltage drop caused by the current drawn and the resistance of the cable carrying the combined power and video signal. If this can not be calculated precisely, a multi-voltage power supply may be used to allow the desired output voltage to be set after installation. Alternatively, use of a suitable DC-DC converter would make it possible to set a fixed-voltage, stable output.
