CLOUD MPA-626 INTEGRATED AMPLIFIER

The MPA-626 integrated amplifier is a one-box solution to the need for high-quality foreground/background music-play in commercial and industrial applications. It is ideally suited where a system requires a large number of features or facilities, but is not required to operate in a large number of independent zones. The design has extremely comprehensive facilities; a colour brochure is available from Technical Support. An overview follows.

There are six stereo “music” line inputs, using RCA(phono) connectors, with pre-set gain controls (± 10dB) and option for automatic priority for audio signals present on line six; one of the six is selected by a front-panel rotary switch. The rear panel has HF and LF EQ, and a port for remote control of level using an RL-1 wall plate. Two mic inputs are provided with balanced XLR connectors. The rear panel has separate gain controls, shared HF and LF EQ, and a port for mic access using closing contacts. There is also a switch to assign microphone priority and an internal jumper can be set to provide +15V phantom power. “Vox” priority attenuates “music” by 30dB, or microphones with associated “talk” switches can be set to trigger a reduction in “music” level between 30 and 60dB. The microphone access contacts also trigger built-in restoration relays, allowing a wide variety of 100V, 70V, and 50V line remote volume controls to be used without affecting the level of microphone announcements. The rear panel has a connector for remote music mute (eg. from fire alarm panel), “chime” level control, which may be configured to operate from the microphone access contacts, and two auxiliary outputs using RCA (phono) connectors.

The integrated power amplifier is convection-cooled, has dynamic clip, VI limit, DC offset and thermal protection. There is an output transformer which may be switched in to provide 50V, 70V 100V and 2 Ω -matching outputs as well as the normal 4 Ω -matching output. All are on screw-terminals. Supply is by IEC inlet.
