ASC MINX PORTABLE MIXER

A lightweight portable mono mixer, suited for outside broadcast, public events, training and other similar applications. The Minx mixer incorporates communications and monitoring facilities only usually found on much larger and more expensive mixers and is used by leading broadcasters worldwide.

The MINX has three transformer-balanced XLR mic/line inputs with P48 phantom power, front-panel high-pass filter, PFL button and dual-concentric gain and fader controls. A cue input is provided on balanced XLR and terminal posts. The main output is provided on both balanced XLR and terminal-posts (isolated from each other) and switchable 0dB/-50dB, so Minx mixers can be cascaded, feed a radiomic, or be used as a microphone sub-mixer.

There are two headphone outputs on A-gauge jacks, with separate level controls, a high-quality PPM meter and LED overload indicator, linked to a switchable limiter. There is also a built-in talkback microphone, and talkback, presenter’s and engineer’s headphones can be switched separately to cue or output. A line-up oscillator is also provided and the mixer is powered from either mains or 2 x PP3 size batteries, giving approximately 10 hours use. A charger for NiCad batteries (PP3 size) is also included.

Technical note:

The battery used to provide phantom power on earlier versions is now obsolete. Later models used a module powered by a single PP3 size battery (not recharged by the internal charging system), which was also available separately for retrofit upgrading of existing units by a competent technician or by return to Canford. Please contact Technical Support for more details.
