CENTRANCE USB AUDIO INTERFACE - MicPort Pro 2

Designed as a rechargeable, portable audio interface for podcasting, broadcasting, or interviewing, this low-noise microphone pre-amplifier links a ribbon, dynamic or condenser microphone and connects it to a compatible iPhone, iPad, Android device, Mac, Linux, or PC computer using a USB cable.

MicPort Pro 2 has an A/D converter with 16/24-bit, 44.1kHz to 192kHz performance, and the inbuilt Li-Polymer rechargeable battery gives approximately 5 hours play or record time, varied with phantom-powered mics. Three LEDs allow identification of the remaining battery life.

Although MicPort 2 is a single-channel device, it records in stereo, with the left channel recording the preset level, and the right channel recording the same audio with a 12dB reduction. This safety track can be accessed in post-production.

Manufactured from ‘aircraft-grade’ aluminium, and with ‘scratch resistant’ finish, this low noise interface applies a ‘high gain’ Jasmine preamp with switchable +48V phantom power to the mic/line input on Neutrik combo XLR/jack connector. Hi-Z can be switched on/off for applying to instruments such as electric guitars, whilst an on/off switchable high pass filter at 130Hz, with a 6dB/octave roll-off can be applied to reduce excessive or unwanted bass frequencies. Additionally, a soft-knee limiter can be applied to reduce peaks in the audio input.

The female Neutrik combo XLR/jack connector is on one end of the device. This can either be attached directly to a suitable microphone, or connected using a microphone cable. The other end of the device has a miniature USB socket for connection to a compatible recording device, a miniature USB socket for connection to a compatible 5A USB charging device, a power button, and a switch with associated LED, to select 48V phantom power. Also present on the same end of the device is a switch for activating limiting, and a 3.5mm stereo headphone socket, designed to be loud across a variety of headphones from 16-600Ohms. The longer front panel of the USB interface features three rotary controls to adjust microphone gain, IN/USB mixing which allows the adjustment of the mix between microphone input along with the signal coming back from the recording device; and headphone monitor output level.

Included accessories: Felt carry pouch, USB cable, quick start guide.
