Note: The UK Noise at Work regulations 1989 requires a noise assessment to be made by a competent person to identify exposed persons and any requirements for hearing protection if any person is likely to be exposed above the first action level (an Lep,d of 85dB(A)). A rough guide to this level is if two people have to shout to be understood when 2m apart.
