Reports to: Credit Manager / Senior Credit Controller
Position Summary: Main job functions (Note: In addition to these functions employees are required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required).
Ensure prompt payment is received from all customers within defined timescales, whilst working to the company collection policy.
Main Role and Responsibilities:
• Collection of outstanding debts by email, telephone, fax or post.
• Preparation of daily banking and accurately posting and allocating cash receipts to customer accounts.
• Processing new credit account applications. Sourcing trade references and status reports as appropriate and setting realistic credit limits.
• Promptly placing accounts and orders on stop hold for non-payment. Dealing with credit, stop and prepay holds in a timely manner.
• Dealing with and resolving customer queries.
• Account maintenance as required.
• Report any problem accounts / potential bad debts to credit manager.
• Dealing with all incoming cash transactions including reconciliation of cash tins.
• Processing credit/debit notes and customer refunds.
• Processing credit card payments and refunds.
• Dealing with credit insurance.
• Identifying fraudulent attempts and taking the appropriate action, as guided.
• Decision making – credit limits, payment terms and approving / refusing orders on credit terms.
• Setting up payment plans.

• Attend any training to comply with legalisation and the development of the department.
Qualifications / Experience Required:
• Previous experience within a busy credit control environment.
