SWITCHCRAFT UNIVERSAL SERIES D-SUB CONNECTORS
A range of D-sub connectors mounted on housings which fit the Neutrik ‘D’ series cut-out. Suitable for use with connector plates, stageboxes or any application where a Neutrik ‘D’ series cut-out is available. For use with Canford Universal Connection Panels please refer to application note below.
All configurations of D-sub 9 pin and HDD-sub 15 pin are available, in nickel finish shells. Black shells are available to special order, subject to minimum order quantities. In the ‘male-female’ types, the connector element is reversible.
Application note
Fitting the D-sub into a Neutrik ‘D’ cut-out has not been possible until now and compromises are necessary to get it to work at all. Dependent on the mating D-sub cable connector design or the panel thickness, it may not be possible to fully engage the mating connector, however electrical contact and screening is almost always achieved. Users will need to take care in selecting mating cable connectors, it is recommended that a D-sub cable types with a minimal protrusion of the hood or moulded cover, beyond the connector front flange face, is used. Types offered by Canford are suitable, see ‘D-Sub Connectors’. Another necessary compromise to the design is that these connectors are slightly longer than the standard D series connectors meaning that they are unsuitable for use in our 1U Universal connection panels and also in the bottom rows of the 2U and 3U Universal connection panels. Note that these connectors must be front mounted.
