CANFORD SCART ACTIVE RACKSHELF
A simple but effective solution for incorporating domestic audio/video equipment in a professional environment, the shelf mounts such equipment as set-top boxes or video-cassette recorders in a 19-inch rack, and interfaces the audio/video inputs and outputs from the SCART connection on the domestic equipment to professional connectors.
The base of the rack acts as the shelf, and has a lip on the rear to prevent the equipment sliding backwards into the rack when operated over-enthusiastically. It also contains circuitry to adjust audio levels and impedances, and connectors on the rear panel. A SCART input connector, XLR-3-M connectors for left and right audio and BNC outlets for Red, Green, Blue and Composite video signal are provided, as well as IEC supply inlet, fuse and earthing stud. The audio outputs may be connected balanced or unbalanced, and have associated preset controls which adjust level over a wide range. The front of the shelf has a power indicator and the base is mounted in the 3U rack-brackets, to leave 106mm height for the domestic unit. The unit is supplied flat-packed, with SCART to SCART lead and operational manual.
