NEUTRIK SPEAKON LOUDSPEAKER CONNECTORS - Panel types

The Neutrik ‘Speakon’ loudspeaker/amplifier connectors are robust, versatile, easy to assemble, and are used extensively by amplifier and loudspeaker manufacturers as their standard connector.

The contacts are designed to operate with high currents and inductive loads, and to prevent any damage from arcing when disconnected under load. All contacts are touch-proof and the connectors meet the safety requirements of IEC60065 (“test finger” procedures). Contacts are rated 30A RMS 250VAC (unless stated otherwise), with high inrush/outrush capability (300A 200mSec).

SP and SPX series panel connectors

Panel connectors are all airtight, 'male' pattern, and with silver plated contacts (except NL4MP-B). 2 and 4-pole types (except NL4MPR) use the Neutrik 'D' series panel cutout. All panel connectors (except NL4MP-ST and NL4MP-UC) have male 4.8mm tab terminals, designed to accept 'Faston' female crimp connectors. NL4MP-UC, a higher current rated version, accepts 6.3mm 'Faston' connectors. 'Faston' crimps are a special version of the traditional tab connectors incorporating a spring latch, which permit more secure retention even in the event of vibration, and are recommended by Neutrik for use with the Speakon range. 'Tab' connectors are also known as 'spade' connectors.
