CANFORD CAT5E RJ45 FEEDTHROUGH PRO PATCH PANELS, Screened
A range of panels supplied fully populated with feedthrough (also known as double-sided or back-to-back) screened RJ45 CAT5E sockets enabling system patching and easy connection of portable or external equipment.
Manufactured from two lightweight, but extremely rigid aluminium extrusions mounted back to back with the individual connectors mounted between them; the connectors are flush with the front panel face. Panels are fitted with a cranked lacing-bar for each row of connectors giving easy access to the rear sockets. The connectors are arranged in equal groups either side of a central divide and a snap-on cover designation-strip holder is fitted above each connector row on the front panel to permit the supplied paper strips to be inserted before or after installation; 7.5mm of printable height is available. Autocad templates for printing designation strips are available for download from the Tech Zone at www.canford.co.uk or by contacting Technical Support. Spare designation-strip paper inserts (not suitable for printers) and clear covers are available.
Available finished in Dawn Grey (BS4800-10A03) or Black.
Recess rack-mounting brackets are available to recess panels within the rack and an optional tamper-proof cover-plate can be fitted and removed without disturbing the panel mountings, see 'Recess rack-mounting brackets and anti-tamper covers'.
Application note:
Care should be taken to ensure that cables fitted behind cover-plates are not bent below their recommended minimum bend radius.
Screened (FTP) 100 ohm CAT5E RJ45 modules are are recommended for electrically noisy areas and are suitable for LAN data rates up to 100Mb/s and for AES/EBU digital audio. CAT5E also supports short-run Gigabit Ethernet (1000Mb/s) networking by utilizing all four wire pairs and is backward compatible with ordinary CAT5.
